NEWS ABOUT AN EXCITING NEW OPPORTUNITY AT BRISTOL STEINER SCHOOL
From September 2008 the Bristol Steiner School will be expanding to include classes 9 and 10, to be called PLUS at Bristol Steiner School. This is a very exciting development for us.
We would very much welcome children of class 9-age (14 to 15 years) from your school who would like to come to Bristol to join our class 9 in Bristol for periods of a few months, from September 2008 and will extend the same invitation for Class 10 when it starts in September 2009. It will be a wonderful opportunity for our own children here, and also hopefully for yours.
Children coming to Bristol will be able to:-
- improve their skills in understanding, speaking, reading and writing the English language (In addition to the normal Steiner Waldorf curriculum for class 9, they will also receive 2 hours per week extra support in English while they are at the Bristol school)
- gain the experience of living in a different culture for a few months
- make friends with whom to stay in contact and invite to their own country
- learn the skills necessary for living away from home for a while. The children will live with families from the Bristol school.
The school year for class 9 runs from September 2008 to July 2009 and consists of 3 school terms, each one lasting approximately 3 months. We would like any child to stay for at least one school term so that they have the chance to settle in and build relationships while they are here. The children will need to arrive a few days before the term begins, and will be
collected from the airport by their host family or someone from PLUS. Where possible we ask that children fly to Bristol Airport, where they can be met free of charge. Collections from other airports will be charged for; please enquire when you know more details.
Bristol is a very attractive city in the Southwest of England. For more information about Bristol, you can visit websites such as www.about-Bristol.co.uk or http://visitbristol.co.uk
